Social Media: Starting to Get a Deeper Understanding

With the Social Media Conference fast approaching (don't forget to register!) I have started to spend more time with various social sites. I am really becoming a believer in the connectiveness that social media can let you have with your customers and potential customers. Change the word customer to family and the same connections happen.

What does this mean? It means you can stay better in touch with those your connected to. Social Media sites are avenues of communication and sharing. In a busy world, it gives us another way to connect when face to face or phone time isn't possible. For business its another avenue to share your product and philosophy that isn't constrained by office hours or business address.

It also humanizes your business, dropping the curtain a bit and allowing you to show a bit of your personality. Yes, you have to learn how to control how much you share and to not be too open, but, establishing relationships does nothing but strengthen your business.

The Social Media Conference on September 10th & 11th will help you understand this "New Word of Mouth Marketing." Its worth the time and effort to learn more about.

Personal Enrichment: Making More Time During the Day

One hour. Don't you think an extra hour a day would be awesome? Think of the learning, the hobbies or the family time you could have with that one hour. It's making that extra hour that seems impossible to do.

My friends over at Zen Habits just published a list titled "25 Painless Ways to Free Up an Hour a Day for Your Goals" and I really think its one of the best lists I've seen. Now your not going to get me to try all of them. For example, I am not going to get up an hour early every day even knowing that's the most productive time. I know that I need to sleep. But I have learn to ignore my cell phone and to group my email checking into blocks of times. I have also learned to prioritize my days and to delegate when I can. These thing can and will free up extra time in your life.

The most important item is to use that saved time towards your goals, and not toward more work or "stuff."

Check it out! You might be surprised!
